The Bravery of Bageshwar
In January 1921, over 10,000 people gathered at the Saryu river in Bageshwar, Uttarakhand, to fight the oppressive Coolie Begar forced-labor system. Led by Badri Datt Pandey, the crowd tore up the official British registers and flung them into the rushing river. This bold revolt permanently shattered colonial authority across the hills. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Bageshwar, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
