The Ferocity of Rampa

In 1879, the tribal communities of the Rampa region in present-day Andhra Pradesh rose against oppressive British taxation, exploitative excise policies, police excesses, and growing restrictions on their traditional way of life. Refusing to submit, they launched a sustained guerrilla resistance, attacking colonial police stations and challenging British authority across the hill tracts, prompting them to reconsider several policies affecting tribal communities. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Rampa, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
