The Soldiers of Khongjom

In April 1891, the Anglo-Manipur War reached its climax at Khongjom, where 400 Manipuri soldiers under Major Paona Brajabashi built a mud fort to block the advancing British army. Outgunned but unbroken, they fought to the last man. Offered his life if he switched sides, Paona refused and chose death over surrender. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Khongjom, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
