The Great Tumult of Dombari Buru
On 9 January 1900, Munda tribesmen gathered on Dombari Buru hill under Birsa Munda’s call for Ulgulan—the Great Tumult—to reclaim their land and water. British guns cut them down, staining the hill and Tajna river red. Yet the revolt left a lasting impact, forcing the British Empire to pass laws protecting tribal lands. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Dombari Buru, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
