The Fire of Koraput
In August 1942, the tribal heartland of Koraput, Odisha transformed into a fortress of peasant rebellion under the leadership of Laxman Nayak. Tribal villagers armed with wooden staves surrounded British police posts, cut government communications, and declared an independent region. When police opened fire during a peaceful march at Mathili, Laxman Nayak stood his ground, inspiring thousands to throw off colonial authority across the Eastern Ghats. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Koraput, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
