The Guerrilla War of Kuki Hills

Between 1917 and 1919, the Kuki Hills of Manipur became the theater of the historic Kuki Rising. Refusing British forced-labor recruitment for World War I, Kuki chiefs united across the region, using indigenous gunpowder manufacturing and fortified stockades to wage a two-year guerrilla war against colonial troops. Their fierce mountain resistance paralyzed British rule across the hills. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of the Kuki Hills, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
