The Warriors of Pasighat
In March 1911, the dense forests of Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh became the battleground of the Anglo-Abor War. Led by Matmur Jamoh, Adi warriors armed with poisoned arrows and longbows ambushed British military expeditions at Kekar Monying to defend their tribal sovereignty. Their fierce resistance halted early colonial expansion across the Siang Valley. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Pasighat, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
