The Farmers of Neemuchana
In May 1925, the agrarian village of Neemuchana in Alwar, Rajasthan rose in fierce protest against oppressive land tax hikes imposed by the colonial-backed princely state. Over 1,000 farmers gathered in a massive Kisan Sabha to demand their traditional land rights. When state and colonial forces surrounded the peaceful gathering and opened fire unprovoked, hundreds were martyred. The tragedy at Neemuchana drew nationwide outrage, making the village an immortal symbol of peasant sacrifice. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Neemuchana, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
