The Soldiers of Payyanur
In April 1930, Payyanur, Kerala became the epicentre of South India’s Civil Disobedience Movement. Led by K. Kelappan, a dedicated band of satyagrahis marched 96 miles from Kozhikode to Payyanur to break the colonial salt laws along the Malabar coast. Facing severe police assaults, their defiance ignited widespread salt satyagrahas across Kerala. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Payyanur, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
