The Beats of Betul
In 1942, the dense forests of Ghoradongri in Betul, Madhya Pradesh echoed with the beat of the Banadhaka - a traditional instrument played by freedom fighter Manshu Ojha to rally tribal communities. Joining hands with Gond leaders like Doma Gond and Vishnu Gond, Manshu led an audacious Quit India strike, sabotaging colonial railway tracks, damaging the strategic Bogda bridge, and setting British timber depots ablaze. Arrested in November 1942 and subjected to severe imprisonment across Betul, Nagpur, and Narsinghpur, their unyielding defiance completely paralyzed imperial supply lines in central India. Delhivery bows to the valour of the people of Ghoradongri, whose sacrifices paved our way to freedom.
